Hokkaido Autumn Vacation: Sapporo - Noboribetsu - Hakodate

Mid of this month me and my family went to Japan for autumn holiday. In total of 10 days, we spent most of the days in beautiful island of Hokkaido (北海道). This was our first time to experience the autumn season and it was amazing. Most of the leaves had turned color to yellow and red, such a different atmosphere. The weather was a little bit cold (around 9-16 degrees Celcius) but we enjoyed it so much.

Now I would like to share the highlight of my free and easy autumn holiday to Hokkaido. I'm going to write few posts for details and put up the link at this post. Please look forward to my posts.

1. Sapporo
Being in the largest city in Hokkaido, we had so many places to visit and so many food to try. Hokkaido offered us so much pretty views and nice sweets.

We flew from Haneda airport Tokyo to New Chitose airport in Sapporo. Then we took Airport Limited Express train to Sapporo station. The train ticket cost around 1,100 yen/pax. It took around 30 minutes to reach Sapporo station.
Hotel: We stayed at Gracery Sapporo Hotel. It's located just 1 minutes walk from Sapporo JR train station. And there were a lot of shopping malls around the hotel. It's so convenient. They also provide free Wi-Fi. I really recommend this hotel. Among all hotels I stayed for the Japan trip, this hotel was the best in terms of facilities and location.
Here is our brief itinerary while in Sapporo:

Day 1: After check-in we explored the areas around hotel immediately.

Day 2: We had 1 day Otaru Bay Story tour by bus. Otaru is known for its canal and music box. It's a pretty place and good for tourist to visit. The tour also provided us with buffet lunch at a nice hotel. Tour was conducted by Japanese speaking guide but in the bus there's an audio guide for many languages, such as English, Mandarin, Japanese, etc.

Day 3: Half day Sapporo City tour by bus. Also conducted by Japanese speaking guide. During this tour, we visited the magical place Shiroi Koibito Park, where the famous Shiroi Koibito biscuits were produced.

2. Noboribetsu

We took bus from Sapporo bus station to Noboribetsu Onsen bus station. There's only 1 schedule everyday for the bus going to Noboribetsu Onsen, so plan your trip carefully. It took around 1 hour 40 minutes duration. It costs around 600+ yen/pax. We spent 1 day here at Noboribetsu Onsen.

Hotel: Yumoto Noboribetsu (ryokan). We booked Japanese styled bedroom that could fit 6 pax in 1 room. They also provided Japanese styled dinner in our room. It's very special experience! There were 12 delicious items in our dinner menu. We also enjoyed the hot spring in the same hotel. So relaxing.

3. Hakodate

We took 15 minutes bus from Noboribetsu Onsen to Noboribetsu JR train station (cost 340 yen/pax) and followed by train from Noboribetsu JR station to Hakodate JR station.

Hakodate was a very peaceful place. When we arrived and explored in the afternoon, we were puzzled because we didn't see many people on the street. Many shops were closed too. Later on, we figured out that the place where we stayed actually near the morning market and the busy time was in the morning.

Hotel: Loisir Hotel Hakodate, just 1 minutes from Hakodate JR train station.
